clarkeTokeneke Classic Road Race Date: Sunday August 10, 2008
Location: East Hartland, CT
Type of Event: Road
The Tokeneke Road Club and the Cafeteros Cycling Club are proud to stage this exciting bike race around the Barkhamsted Reservoir in central Connecticut
This is a race organized by and for racers. The area was chosen because of the challenging terrain and spectacular beauty of the race course. We think it is one of the best courses in the Northeast, and we've raced a few of them. The course consists of multiple loops around a hilly 22-mile circuit with about 2000 feet of climbing per lap. The field often splits before the finish, but if not, the final 2.2 miles at a consistent 5% grade ensures a thrilling finish for both contestants and spectators.
